Committed defender signed by Patrick Doyle to tighten up the Harchester defence. That commitment ultimately led to the untimely end of his career, defying doctor's orders to try and complete the job that he was brought in to do. Stuart then became manager, and his desperation for the club to do well became evident when he fixed matches in order to try and guarantee a cash injection for the ailing club. Stuart's conscious got the best of him, and he became a target to those behind the match - fixing. Stuart was the intended victim when Marcel Sabatier was murdered, and it was this realisation that led to his admission to the witness protection program and his departure from Harchester.
Brought into Harchester by Patrick Doyle to add some class and creativity to the midfield. Was soon appointed captain and is was generally looked upon as one of the most influential players that Harchester ever had on the pitch, no more so than when he was forced to play in goal when Viv Wright abandoned the team in the tunnel. However, Marcel soon found himself in the midst of an affair with Abi Fletcher, wife of Dragons' legend Karl. His respect within the team slowly faded as he coped with the exposure of his affair. Eventually, he returned to sign up to play for free and save the team, however, tragedy struck as it was in Abi's arms that he was killed, mistaken for Stuart Naysmith by a hitman.
Never has there been a better rags to riches story. Jason started the season working in a tyre bay, but was given a chance to make his mark in a pre-season friendly. Eventually, he earned himself a contract to play for the team he loves. Throughout his first professional year, Jason managed to alienate his two friends, Big Phil and Deano, after succumbing to the riches and lifestyle of a footballer. He cheated on his childhood sweetheart, and admitted to it on his wedding day. As the season drew to a close, he was ousted by his team-mates and vilified publicly after being wrongly accused of being the "dragonslayer"....however, in the end, he found himself with the chance to win his beloved Dragons the Premiership title.
Frank Patcham was possibly the most sensible and reliable coach that Harchester United has ever had. Franks love and passion was the youth team, spotting fresh young talent and moulding them into professional players, making boys into men. Frank distanced himself from the boardroom drama and much preferred the simple life of coaching the youth team and family life. Frank had a daughter called Lucy, who eventually ended up working for Sky Sports, his best mate was Des Baker And the owner of one of Harchester's most infamous lines "Play the game and not the occasion".
Throughout his time in Harchester, Ryan had to endure the departure of his father, the death of his best friend, and of course, the death of his dog. In between these experiences, Ryan stole tickets and was blackmailed by a tout for money, only to kill the tout when the blackmail and pressure reached a boiling point. Ryan always managed to land himself in a considerable amount of trouble involving the ladies, risking the fury of Jaws by sleeping with his wife, Chelsea, Carl Caskey by sleeping with his daughter and Gavin Moody by sleeping with his fiancée. Despite all of this heartache and trouble, Ryan escaped death following promotion to the Premiership and ended his Dragons career on a high by lifting the FA Cup.
Phil Wallis was chairman of Harchester united football club for the duration of the 2002/3 season, not bad for a man who started out as a loyal fan and plumber! Phil bought the club with his wife Jacqui at the beginning of the season, taking it from under the nose of manager Patrick Doyle and agent Jeff Stein. What followed was a season of match fixing and corruption, with Doyle trying to ruin Phil, even stealing his wife from him. Phil decided at the end of the season that he was better suited to the role of fan than chairman, and so gave the club away in a lottery, symbolic of the way he was able to buy the club in the first place.
You can't help but love Dean Boyle. Throughout his time at Harchester, we saw nothing but a naïve man completely out of his depth, but whilst this was happening, we warmed to him and we all hoped he would learn from his mistakes. He was manipulated by several people such as his father, his poisonous girlfriend Donna, and Harchester manager Don Barker. The effect all 3 of these characters had on Dean Boyle helped make him stronger as the show progressed. He shared a strong bond with the players, which was evident when he moved in with a few players after he got sacked. Dean lost his life in the infamous coach explosion but will never be forgotten.
Billy O'Neil who was known to his team mates as the 'Scouse Mouse' came to Harchester as a youth team player from Liverpool. Settling in straight away he formed a strong friendship with Leon Richards. The ever bubbly Billy fell into depression at the beginning of the 1999/2000 season after his best mate Leon died in a tragic plane crash. Thankfully he found a new friendship, this time from Wes Kingsley who had been transferred from Leyton Orient. Throughout Billy's time at Harchester, he was always up for a laugh but he knew when to be serious as well. Billy avoided death and eventually did move to West Ham where he continued his career.
Tash arrived in season 4 with her husband Jamie the new goalkeeper. They were dubbed the posh and becks of Harchester. Tash was a stunning glamour model, she had affairs with Monday Bandele and Robbie Walsh! Sooner or later divorce was on the cards. The pair had split for a while, and it all went down hill! Tash went through a lot, death of her husband, became an agent, had a baby, affairs, you name it, arguably one of the strongest female characters.
Liam arrived as a lower league journeyman as part of the Eugene Rose transfer deal. He found himself working under a manager who's career he ended, at the center of a scandal that brought Premiership football to a standstill and also then enduring the break up of his marriage after she slept with his then manager! It has been said that "honesty is the best policy", and the fact that Liam had a real chance of ending the season as a Premiership winning captain perhaps adds weight to that claim.
Victoria Baptiste was the biggest bitch to grace Harchester. She slept her way around the team and the boardroom but she only ever had a love for one thing... money! She originally came to Harchester to get a divorce from Didier but she soon spotted a money making opportunity in Prashant Dattani. Victoria helped Prash gain control of HUFC and ousted pregnant chairwoman Lynda Block. When Prash was found dead, Victoria was one of four suspects. After the court case which saw Fletch go down for the crime, Victoria disappeared for a while, but soon enough her cash had run out and she came to Harchester for more. This time she embarked on a brief affair with Jamie Parker, until Lynda threatened to push her off the top of the stadium.
Eddie Moliano only spent two years at Harchester but through that time he brought so much to the show. Eddie was a lovable character who's main aim was to fit in first and play good football second. A stereotypical dim footballer, many fans will remember the time when Eddie mistook a deodorant rash for Meningitis or the time when he was embarrassed in front of his team mates by Marilyn Harwood for having a rather small package. Moliano was always fresh on the show and always made Dream Team feel that little bit lighter. From waking up in the same bed as Fletch to being taken for a ride by the gold digging Maria, Eddie Moliano was a fantastic character and an asset to Dream Team.
Sean Hocknell started life at Harchester in the youth team. He always lived in his brother' Dean's, shadow and was always being compared with him. Dean had many altercations with youth team's manager Frank Patcham. But Sean eventually got his head down and got his promotion to the first team. After a drunken weekend in Las Vegas Sean found himself married to Mica! But the lying gold-digger was eventually found out. However shortly after Sean was killed in a plane crash along with Leon and Julie.
Clyde Connelly was promoted from the youth team ranks at the age of just 17. He quickly gained a reputation as a cheeky, self centred and arrogant person without a care in the world. He had a strong friendship with Ryan Naysmith. Clyde's worst side of his personality was there for all to see when he believed he had a case to own the club due to the raffle fiasco. His football suffered as he was more interested in publicity and Donna Boyle. Reality finally hit Clyde when he decided to drop out of the race to own the club, and concentrated on football. The next season spelled misery and depression for Clyde as new manager Don Barker's approach left Clyde feeling isolated eventually resulting in him committing suicide.
Some could call him a typical agent, concerned about his clients well being but first and foremost concerned about himself. Jeff faced many problems in his time in Harchester, ranging from nearly burning down the Parker family home, to having to fight off competition from Fletch to be representing some of the players. Jeff also tried to buy the club off of Sam Irvine but was unsuccessful. He broke FA regulations in the Mendoza transfer deal after swindling new owner Phil Wallis as revenge for being beaten to the club by the lottery winner. Jeff got a lifetime ban from being an agent, but discovered the talents of Lee Presley and proceeded with a scheme to marry Nikki Peggs so as she, in conjunction with himself, could represent Lee and make profit off of him.
The strong minded character was first introduced into the show when his friend - Luis Amor Rodriguez needed a helping hand. Ray was influential in his role as assistant manager helping Harchester reach the Quarter Finals of the Uefa Cup. When Luis left the show, he was promoted to full time manager but the 1st few months did not go to plan for him and he was under severe pressure from fans. The turnaround in the clubs fortune on the field came from an inspired purchase of Monday Bandele. However, Rays personal life was in turmoil as he split up with his wife because of an affair with Lynda, and lost an unborn baby due to the stress Lynda was put under to Prashant Dattani.
Luis arrived onto the show as the new superstar from Argentina. He played a big part in one of the shows longest running storylines, the affair with Lynda Block. Luis became player manager in the latter stages of Series 2 and helped guide the team to win the FA Cup, however this was overshadowed by an unsuccessful assassination attempt on his life organised by Jerry Block. His feud would continue the next season, and eventually he would get his wishes when Jerry Block left and being reunited with Lynda. Luis decided to leave Harchester at the end of the season but at a cost of leaving Lynda, he did however score the last minute goal to keep Harchester safe from relegation
Don's influence on the show was immediate, coming in a new era for the club he was arguably the most influential figure on Series 8. We saw both sides of the character in his time, his nature to succeed for the team, but also his evident evil and ruthless streak. The suicide of Clyde is attributed to Don's attitude towards him and how he treated him, this ruthless nature was only emphasised in the racism row of Lazio where he manipulated a young Nathan Woods to fake a coin throw from the crowd so Harchester won the game. Of course his final act was blowing up the team and himself and also killing off the legend of Harchester, Karl Fletcher in the process.
Patrick Doyle's time throughout the show involved some of the most outrageous, and entertaining moments the show has ever produced. Fans remember the moment when he first arrived, a man with a plan, determined to be successful with Harchester, only then for it all to go wrong when his ambitious plan of purchasing Harchester was crushed by a plumber who had just won the lotto. A vengeful Doyle decided to try and hurt the club by getting them relegated. Doyle had his work cut out, trying to keep his job, and fighting off Karl Fletcher in order to win his bet. It all accumulated into Dream Teams number 1 moment when Jamie Parker took the team hostage. Doyle eventually got murdered a few days later.
Scott Lucas joined the club in the 1999/2000 season to great fanfare, he was the player chosen to replace Harchester legend Karl Fletcher. Scott started out as an arrogant egotistical striker, often being rude to players and managers alike. He formed a mischievous duo with Eddie Molino, however the two fell out when Scott inadvertently started dating Eddies sister. Soon after this affair ended, another started, this time with Ann Patterson, fiancée of captain Michael Dillon. Anne found out she was pregnant with Scott's baby, and the prospect of fatherhood matured Scott a great deal. Lucas found great form in to 2000/1 season, but unfortunately broke his leg and had a lengthy lay off. He moved to Chelsea at the end of the year with Anne and his son.
Introduced as the ambitious new owner of Harchester United, and soon began the process of attempting to make them one of the biggest clubs in the country, The Dragons' Lair was developed under his stewardship. Unfortunately, his relationship with his wife Lynda was not as promising as the future prospects for his club, as she embarked on an affair with star striker Rodriguez. Jerry found out, and soon organised for Luis to be killed, only to have John Black shot dead by mistake and Lynda to be injured as a result of the same shooting. These actions were soon discovered by Lynda, and she forced her husband to leave the country, and the club, for a new life, or face life imprisonment. Jerry, according to his son, later died.
Vivian 'Jaws' Wright was drafted into the Harchester squad by old team mate Stuart Naysmith, due to the club being in desperate need of a goalkeeper but having very little available funds. Jaws had been a free agent since he was sent off for biting another player and suffered a severe mental disorder. Jaws' erratic behaviour made him a hit with fans, and after the sacking of Don Barker, he was awarded the position of player/manager. Jaws took the team to the champions league quarter final, as well 5th in the Championship and a play off place. At half time in the play off final, Jaws delivered what many believe to be the greatest speech in DT history and inspired the team to win. Viv was tragically killed in a coach explosion after the game.
Lynda Block is surely the most infamous head figure in Harchester's history. She arrives in Harchester alongside her husband Jerry Block, she is only seen as a trophy wife. Lynda and Luis embark on an affair which has deadly consequences, as when her husband finds out he hires a hit man to kill Luis during the FA Cup Final at Wembley! Lynda is shot by mistake and suffers from amnesia. Lynda eventually regains her memory, blackmails Jerry into fleeing to Rio leaving Lynda in Control. Lynda is imprisoned for 3 years when she kills Prashant Dattani in a fit of rage. But sure enough upon her release she returns to the club as Chief Executive for a year, but after her relationship with Dempsey ends in disaster, Lynda opts for a quieter life with her son Louie.
Jamie joined the club from Chelsea in order to get fist team football, and with the hope of improving his chance of getting a place in the England squad. Jamie was no stranger to media attention, being married to model Tash and the pair often making the headlines. Jamie was badly injured after the coach crash at the end of season 5, and spent much of the next year in rehab. While injured he took Patrick up on an offer to throw matches in order to get Harchester relegated, culminating in him going crazy and holding the entire team hostage. He was shot by the police when he came out of the changing room and refused to relinquish his gun, bringing his colourful Harchester career to a tragic end.
There is no doubt Karl Fletcher IS Mr Harchester. Following in his fathers footsteps, Fletch joined you youth set up at Harchester and progressed to become arguably the clubs most famous player. Spending more than 8 years at the club and scoring nearly 200 goals, Fletch has been no stranger to controversy, including moving overseas twice, getting married, having a child with Lynda, being involved in match fixing, being player manager and sleeping with nearly every woman to pass through the show. Fletch met a sticky end at the hands of former manager Don Barker, who impaled the back of Fletches skull on a coat peg. Fletch returned for the last half of season 10, as a vision to young Jason Porter, and was the last face to ever appear on the show.
