Stevie Shaw played by Adam Allfrey

Stevie Shaw played by Adam Allfrey

A strong English midfielder in the Roy Keane mould, the first thing manager Alan Rothman did when he joined Harchester United was swoop for Aston Villa's young hardman. Signed for £3m plus Campbell Hooper, Alan intends on building the side around Shaw, who is exactly the kind of player he requires to boss the centre of the pitch. Although a typical tough-tackling midfield general, Steve has plenty of talent going forward but he has a weakness - his temper. But he is a winner and his attitude reflects this - no one is sure where he is coming from and doesn't appear to have or need friends. Coming from a close-knit working class family, Shaw does mix with outsiders and has little time for fools. He has big season ahead of him - both on and off the pitch.

Stevie Shaw is a player that every manager would want in his side - he is young, strong, well disciplined - Stevie seemingly had it all. Signing Shaw was the very first thing which new manager Alan Rothman did when he joined Harchester United. Rothman knew that he had considerable talent and he was signed for a relatively small fee, compared to other players and cost the Dragons just £3m plus Campbell Hooper. He was instantly made the new club captain, which show his excellent leadership credentials. He fell for Nikki Peggs, who was one of the office beauties working for Harchester. Neither would admit to the attraction of one another, and Stevie ended up being good friends with Nikki’s brother, Gary (Peggsy) possibly as a way of getting closer to Nikki.

Everything was going well for Stevie both on and off the pitch, then his luck changed for the worse. Harchester signed Linton Alexander. Stevie and Linton had previously played together at Charlton and didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye. Linton noticed that Stevie had a soft spot for Nikki, so did everything he could do make Stevie look bad, including telling her that Stevie slept with his wife whilst they were at Charlton. Linton started making advances to Nikki, much to the annoyance of Stevie, who knew Linton was nasty and aggressive towards women. One time, things got so bad for him, that he slept on a park bench for the night, like he was homeless. He lost the captain’s armband during this uneasy spell. Things improved for Stevie when he confronted Linton about his relationship with Nikki and she slowly started to realise what he was really like and the relationship ended. She was left devastated when she remembered that she had sold her house to go and live with Linton, and feared she would be homeless. Luckily, the new owner of the house was closer than she thought - Stevie had bought it. He was going to rent it out anyway, so allowed Nikki to stay on and the two finally got together as an official couple. Everything was going perfect for Stevie and he boarded the coach en-route to the UEFA Cup Final, alongside the other Harchester players. Then, tragedy struck and the coach veered off the side of the motorway and ploughed down an embankment where it crashed. Several Harchester United first team players were killed in this crash, including Harchester’s very own Captain Marvel.... Stevie Shaw.
