Robbie Walsh played by Scott Mean

Robbie Walsh played by Scott Mean

Robbie Walsh is a product of the highly successful Harchester Youth development schemes; the promising central midfielder has fought his way through the cut-throat youth ranks to finally gain a professional contract at Harchester. The young Walsh has a future in football but he has to work much harder than his team-mates as his quality isn't natural and he is hardly the most talented youngester to progress through the ranks. Robbie broke into the Harchester first-team under the guidance of Patrick Doyle towards the end of the 2001/2002 season.

Having established himself the season before in Doyle's set-up, despite some less than convinicing performances, the 2002/2003 season is surely make-or-break for Robbie - can he work hard and succeed? His off-field lifestyle begins to effect his performances, and not for the better. Shortly after the coach crash - in which goalkeeper Jamie Parker was injured quite seriously, therefore forcing him to spend a whole summer in hospital, Robbie began to get close with Parker's wife - Tash. Having been alone for a while she got very lonely and Robbie was there to help with taking care of Jamie and Tash's baby as well as attending to her other needs. With Jamie having to go to LA for a few months to undergo treatment at a clinic Tash is heartbroken and desperate and immediately continues her affair with Robbie.

With the arrival of Ryan Naysmith (then Ryan Greene) Robbie is ousted from the first team, after he had a promising start to the season but his lack of talent is hindering his chances in Harchester. Walsh writes an offical transfer request to Patrick only a few weeks into the season obviously discouraged at not being selected in the team, however the letter is intercepted by Fletch after he was asked by Tash to take care of her lover. However, after a successful agent-player project Robbie and Tash share a bed once again - but are found out by Fletch who hits out at Robbie. When Jamie comes back earlier than expected Robbie is frozen out once again - and again warned off by Fletch. However it is too little too late as Jamie finds out and immediatley confronts Robbie after a heated argument and another few fists thrown Robbie leaves Harchester to move to Brighton anf Hove Albion, with Tash. But their affair ends there when Tash moves back to Harchester to be with Jamie. Leaving Robbie in Brighton playing in the first-team a feat he'd never have acheived in Harchester.
