Nikki Peggs played by Nina Muschallik

Nikki is a very naive, sweet, extremely good-looking girl who is made Harchester's team co-ordinator. She is very passionate about football and her job, she cares greatly for her family and friends - some might say she cares a little too much in some cases this is true. Nikki is appointed as team co-ordinator at the start of the 2001-2002 season, her little brother Garry 'Peggsy' is just breaking into the first team having been brought up the Harchester youth ranks. Nikki's readiness to always see the good in people leads to people walking all over her and taking advantage her extra kindness, as it's her main weakness.

Nikki begins her job as team co-ordinator full of optimism, and is hopeful that she gets off to a good start. Since their parents are absent Nikki acts as a calming influence on her little brother as he surely rockets to stardom, there are a few times when she has to ensure that he keeps his head on the ground as the evils of professional football attempt to corrupt him. Nikki is very maternal with Peggsy, as strangely he is someone more naive than her. Nikki befriends the owner's working daughter - Claudia Irving - and the pair form a strong friendship. The pair of sexy girls enjoy each other’s company as they go regularly for a night on the town; unsurprising they endure plenty of male attention. Nikki has a few of the footballers at the Dragons Lair throwing themselves at her, although she isn't attracted by many of the egotistical professionals, she does seem to have some strong chemistry with club captain and midfield general Stevie Shaw. The pair begin a relationship, in which she tames his former wild ways - they begin to resemble an old married couple in front of the telly most evenings. Nikki's world, however, is ripped apart when her innocent little brother takes drugs and suffers a spinal injury, as a result he can no longer play professional football and leaves his and Nikki's home to go to Spain to live with his parents while he attempts to recover from the career-ending injury. Another revelation shocks an innocent Nikki when she finds her boyfriend in bed with her best friend, as a result she ends it with Stevie and cools down her relationship with Claudia - evicting her from their shared home as well. Nikki then begins another relationship with a footballer, before her bed is even cold from Stevie Shaw. Her relationship is with Linton Alexander, whom it later emerges has severely good reason to detest her former love. Stevie senses that Nikki is in danger as Linton has a tendency to be an abusive partner, after a few arguments she comes round to his way of thinking and ends it with Linton - and reconciles with Stevie. Heartbreak rears its ugly head for her once again, just as she has forgiven Stevie and Claudia both die in the infamous M1 coach crash.

Nikki begins her second season as team co-ordinator under the new regime of Phil Wallis and Patrick Doyle, in the hope that this season she might be lucky in love - finally? This proves to be false, but she wasn't one for not trying. Nikki develops a very good friendship with fellow club staff member Sandra Greene, who has a very unhealthy obsession with new club midfielder Marcel Sabatier, in actual fact they use the club toilets to create a spell for a prospective lover for Nikki. This man is Phil Wallis, the club owner who has separated with his wife due to her lack of honesty and infidelity, the begin a relationship although meet a few problems when organizing a date as his club commitments dictate his life. They eventually organise, but only after Phil parades himself in the full monty on the Harchester pitch. At the end of the season Phil raffles the club away and sadly doesn't return to the club to talk to Nikki - she is heartbroken again.

Nikki develops a taste for job progression during the 2003-2004 season, under the new leadership of ruthless Pilar Hernandez Nikki becomes unhappy in her role as just the team co-ordinator, however she does not decide to leave. Nikki grows furthermore unhappy in her role and eventually decides she'd like to become a football agent, as Jeff Stein, who is now unable to be an agent as in early 2003 he had his license revoked, pushed her in the right direction. He offers her an opportunity to be his partner, with the bottom line being she would be the agent and he'd be the adviser. Jeff spots a phenomenal talent at a youth detention centre in the form of Lee Pressley. Lee is uninterested at first but when he catches sight of Nikki he decides that football might be for him. Trouble arises when Lee is played before he is legally able to play for a club under the correct forms, but this is promptly sorted out. At the same time Nikki undergoes her agent license exam - which she fails - but despite not being fully qualified she uses a loophole in the rules to become Lee's professional agent by becoming his legal guardian.

Months pass and a another new regime is brought in late 2004, under Don Barker as manager Nikki and Jeff are locked in discussions with Man United representatives to strike out a deal for Lee - something which Lee himself knew nothing about! Before flying out Jeff and Lee visit Don in his office to tell him that Lee won't be playing in the game as Man United don't want him to be cup-tied. Lee, however, neglects the information and heads out to Portugal to play effectively ruining his chances of a transfer. Nikki, after heading out to Portugal to make Lee see sense, lectures Lee - telling him that this is not like him and Lee turns on her replying angrily that she is his agent and not his mother! All their anger is soon forgotten however and the two of them end up sleeping together. When they return to Harchester, Lee having played in the match, Jeff asks Lee his advice on Nikki - totally shocked after their night of passion - Jeff tells him that he feels Nikki is falling for him. Jeff finally finds out what has been going on behind his back when the lads reveal what's been going on with Lee and Nikki. As professional as ever Jeff and Nikki organize a transfer for their client to Barcelona but Lee wishes to stay - so he gives them their cut from what they would have earned from his transfer and tells them their services are no longer required. Nikki leaves Harchester for good with Jeff, both having had a very eventful stay!

Short Interview

WHAT'S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING IN DREAM TEAM? Everyone from the crew, cast, producers are such lovely people to work with. We work very hard but also have a great laugh. I've had some great storylines and lots of brilliant scenes.

WERE YOU A FAN OF DREAM TEAM BEFORE YOU JOINED? I remember watching it just before I got my part and thinking it looked great, good drama and good acting.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER? I love her naivety because it's so sweet the way she always sees the best in people and is so polite.

WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER? Her purple shirt that she wears every day! Also she should stand up for herself more and not be so weak at times.

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR CHARACTER AT ALL? I think I would get on with Nikki because I get on with most people, but she is a bit of a gossip! I would definitely take her shopping to get her out of the purple shirt!

DO YOU LIKE THE CLOTHES THAT YOUR CHARACTER WEARS? I do like the clothes Nikki wears when she's not at work. She can look quite sexy and funky.

WHAT DO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY THINK OF YOUR ROLE IN DREAM TEAM? They think it's great and are very positive. They laugh at some of the things I get up to in it. Nikki has got a crafty side.

HOW DO PEOPLE REACT TO YOU IN THE STREET? DO YOU GET RECOGNISED? Yeah, get lots of people shouting ‘Dream Team' or people just stare and point.

WHAT SCENE HAVE YOU MOST ENJOYED OR HATED FILMING SO FAR? Love doing my gossipy scenes because they're fun to do. I hated standing in just a pair of knickers and dropping a fur coat (I had to pretend I was naked). It took about four hours to shoot because of so many shots. I love doing scenes where you have huge arguments – you often have to slap someone! There's nothing quite like getting your anger out.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR CHARACTER'S HOUSE / CAR? My character has a crappy car as she doesn't have that much money!

HAVE YOU EVER MET ANY REAL FOOTBALLERS? Never been out with a footballer but have met loads of them. A lot of them talk about Dream Team; as they all seem to watch it.

WHAT FOOTBALL TEAM DO YOU SUPPORT AND WHY? I'm not a massive supporter but my Nana is Liverpudlian so my family are huge Liverpool supporters.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME? I love yoga, dancing, eating out, shopping, going to the gym and cinema.

WHERE DO YOU COME FROM – HOME TOWN? I'm from Bourne End in Buckinghamshire.
