Lisa is a loving, caring single mother who is, through fate, brought into the rigours of Premiership football - albeit only as girlfriend to hot young Harchester prospect Danny Rawsthorne. Her son Charlie is the most important person to her and she'll always put him first above anyone else. Lisa has to balance her life as the partner of a Premiership player and single-mother yet, with the higher and higher profile that Danny is getting through playing well can she handle it? Also will she stick with ambtious Danny as he plans to eventually move to a bigger club than Harchester?
Harchester travel to Dublin for their 2nd leg, 1st round UEFA Cup tie against Shelborne. Lisa's son Charlie meets his idol Danny Rawsthorne by chance the day of the match and after fearing him as a danger to her son she begins to get rather close to the Dragon's star - they agree to meet after the match. However Danny fails to meet their plans as he has to undergo a UEFA random drugs test - stood-up Lisa leaves. After the test turns out a positive result much to Danny's dismay he runs away, to Ireland and to Lisa once more. The media spotlight has always been a drawback for Lisa and in fact on a number of occasions she tried to end their relationship due to the pressures of being a Footballer's girlfriend. However their feelings for one another are too strong - they reconcile just weeks after breaking up.
On the field Danny gets better and better - even shuns an England under-21 call up to play for Ireland and possibly at the World Cup too. Under the guidance of shifty agent Taylor Doyle, Danny agrees to leave Harchester for Madrid (Athletico that is!) Lisa sees this as a great opportunity for him but sadly she can't go - Danny is heartbroken, as he'll have to leave her behind, as her ex-husband would have access issues for Charlie. Danny contemplates rejecting Madrid but Taylor blackmails him into thinking otherwise. On the eve of the Dinamo Moscow UEFA cup match Danny breaks curfew to propose to Lisa - she accepts! But it isn't to be a happy ending for the pair as Danny dies in the coach crash in 2002; distraught Lisa leaves Harchester grieving for her loss.
