Originally from Northern Ireland, Siobhan relocated to Dublin where she worked in a hotel. This was until scheming agent Jeff Stein came up with the idea of marrying Siobhan to new Harchester striker Monday Bandele in order for him to obtain a work permit to play in the Premiership. Monday would otherwise not have been eligible for an EU work permit, the only way for him to obtain a permit is to marry an EU citizen. Tash believes to have found the perfect partner for Monday in Siobhan and after some persuasion convinces her to agree to the arranged marriage as it will give her a better quality of life as a footballer’s wife. The pair move to Harchester as husband and wife. While grappling with their unconventional marriage, relations between the two are complicated further when Monday's fiancée arrives in town. She is fuming with Monday for not telling her that he is married to Siobhan. Monday spends the night with his fiancée only to find the next day that he is in the middle of a routine enquiry from immigration controls. Siobhan and Monday create a web of lies to cover up the true identity of Monday's fiancée, as if immigration were to uncover the truth Monday’s work permit and position in Harchester would be in danger.
When Siobhan’s birthday comes around she is upset when she realises that her family have abandoned her because of the way she married Monday. She gets very drunk and begins to flirt with Danny, something which does not sit well with Monday. It also emerges that in the past Siobhan had an abortion, something she came to deeply regret and when Lynda hears about this she decides to keep her unborn child, despite the consequences for her, Kitty and Ray. During the summer, Monday arrives home from his holiday in Nigeria, where he picked up an injury during a friendly match. On returning home to his house in the Barrons he discovers a letter from Siobhan saying that she has left him. Monday is genuinely upset, turning to Tash Parker for support.
