Kelly is a brassy romantic who used to change her mind about what she wanted to be every week. She has a heart of gold and always looks out for her friends. Kelly works in the clubs canteen with her best friend Julie. Kelly is a big Harchester United supporter and she tries to get to as many games as possible. Working in the canteen, she gets to keep a close eye on the footballers, in particular, Karl Fletcher. Fletch doesn't seem interested in Kelly but the pair start seeing each other towards the end of the season. Fletch never took the relationship seriously but Kelly was left broken hearted when he left for Real Mallorca.

After the plane crash, Kelly is left devastated but she has to get on with life, she comforts Billy as he tries to get over the loss of Leon. Once Billy gets over the loss, he makes a new friend in Wes Kingsley. Wes takes a liking to Kelly and the pair start seeing each other. After quitting her job in the canteen, Ann offers her a chance to become an agent, based on her football knowledge. She travels to Mallorca for the UEFA Cup quarter final but while she's there she meets up with her old boyfriend, Karl Fletcher and after a few drinks, they end up sleeping together. Kelly regrets it immediately and she warns Fletch to keep quiet. To her dismay, she finds out that Harchester have re-signed Fletch from Mallorca and that he will be partnering Wes up front. After a disappointing away result, he decides to tell Wes the truth about Mallorca. As a result, Wes hospitalizes him before he dumps Kelly. After hearing what had happened, Ann decides to let Kelly go because she feels the scandal would be bad for the companies image. This leaves Kelly heartbroken and jobless so she decides to get her own back on Fletch. She steals the keys to his yellow Lamborghini from receptionist and she has it crushed into a cube, the car was his pride and joy and it left him feeling humiliated in front of his team mates.

Kelly eventually gets her job back as a PR rep, this time working alongside Victoria Baptiste who has taken over the business from Ann. With the footballers never taking her seriously, pressure from Victoria, an argument with tough agent Jeff Stein and a slap on the face from his daughter Tash Parker, Kelly decides to quit her job as a PA and depart Harchester for a sunny beach.
