Frank Patcham is the manager for Harchester United's Youth Team Squad. He has had the taste of managing the first team but he likes the challenge of training and spotting fresh talent. Frank is a likeable character, he is strong-minded and he knows how to get the results that he wants from the team. He is very trusting and a likeable manager amongst the lads, but he is very firm and authoritive at the same time. He has a daughter called Lucy who is a budding new sports presenter.
When Ian Coates is suspended from the club, Frank finds himself in charge of the first team, and he gets the team back on top form, winning all their matches in both the league and the FA Cup, Frank can do no wrong in the eyes of Jerry Block, the clubs chairman. Jerry soon offer's Frank the position of first team manager on a more permanent basis, however Frank declines as he likes being boss of the youth team and scouting for fresh young talent.
After a rollercoaster ride of a season and a failed relationship with the canteen manager Denise Wilkinson, mother of disgraced Alex, Frank decides it's time for a fresh start at a new club, leaving Harchester well and truly behind.
