Scott Lucas played by Luke Mably

Scott Lucas comes across as one of life's effortless winners. He's good and he knows it. He's known the top dog within the dressing room and if someone isn't pulling their weight, he will let them know. Scott's father abandoned the family when Scott was a child and a lot of his behavioral problems stem from these deep rooted abandonment issues. As a child, he idolized Luis Amor Rodriguez and even though he found it hard to admit at first, he is the reason he wanted to play for Harchester United.

Scott started his career with his local club, Millwall. It wasn't long before he broke into the first team and started making a name for himself. After a handful of appearances in the old Second Division, Scott received a call up to the England youth set up. At this stage, bigger clubs were monitoring his progress. After two years at Millwall, it was clear that Scott had become too big for the club. Several Premiership clubs had bids accepted but Scott accepted the offer from Liverpool. It was always going to be hard to break into the Liverpool side with players such as Robbie Fowler, Michael Owen and Emile Heskey ahead of him in the pecking order. Scott became frustrated at Liverpool and after a bust up with Gerard Houllier, he was allowed to leave the club.

Scott signed for Harchester for a fee of £5.5m at the beginning of the 1999/00 season. He had some big boots to fill after the clubs leading goal scorer, Karl Fletcher, had left for Real Mallorca during the summer. Scott wasn't a fan of Fletcher and he didn't like the comparison. His striker partner, Sean Hocknell was good friends with Fletch, so Scott picked on him because he wanted to stamp out the similarities. This led to a brawl between the pair on live television. After the plane crash, the club signed a new striker to replace Sean. Wes had been a lower league player for his whole career and Scott wasn't impressed with what he saw. During this period, he was very outspoken in the dressing room, criticizing team mates and management alike. Despite all this, he was still on good terms with many inside the dressing room and he was known to be friends with Eddie Molliano. However, the friendship was tested after Scott was bragging about a girl he had met outside the club. After some negotiation, he decided to show her off in front of the lads. The lads hid in the laundry room as the girl arrived. To Eddie's disgust, it was his sixteen year old sister, Gina. He was furious with Scott but he soon realized that it wasn't his fault. However, someone within the club had got hold of the story and leaked it to the papers. Eddie was from a big family and his brothers were intent on punishing Scott. Eddie couldn't hold them off altogether but Scott did survive the beating with his legs intact. Soon afterwards, Scott went missing from training, no-one at the club knew where he had gone. In the end, Gordon Gallagher found him at his mother's house in London and he forced him to return to the club. Scott began to realize that his life was not turning out as he had hoped. He confessed that a lot of his bad behavior had been because he was trying to show off in order to impress Luis, his idol. After this, Scott showed a more professional approach towards the game and he hired Ann Paterson to help promote his new image. However, after some charity work, they shared a kiss. Scott confessed his feelings for her on the morning of her wedding day. Ann wasnt sure if she was in love with Scott but she does know that she is no longer in love with Michael. She cancels the wedding and Michael leaves Harchester as a result. Scott and Ann decide to make a go of the relationship and he starts to mature. However, when Ann moves in, Scott feels suffocated. He gets annoyed when she invites her clients around to the apartment and after she moves her office into his bedroom, the pair has a massive argument, which leads Scott to cheat on her. Scott realizes that he was in the wrong and after Harchester get knocked out of the UEFA Cup, he decides to see a therapist in an attempt to save his relationship with Ann.

Scott seems to have faced up to a few of his problems over the summer and it is clear that he has matured. He is no longer seen as one of the lads and he is now distant from the likes of Eddie. He has admitted that he has abandonment issues and in an attempt to solve them, he asks Lizzie Conlon to help him track down his dad. Meanwhile, things with Ann are not great, she is still unsure as to whether or not he has changed, however, Ann admits to Scott that she is pregnant with his baby. Scott makes it clear that he wants to be a father to the child. On the field, Scott had been in fine form, he was very disappointed when he was forced to switch position after the signing of Monday Bandele. He threatened to leave because of the decision but he soon came to accept it. The change of position did him the world of good, his form improved quite dramatically and in the absence of Matt Conlon, he was appointed as the temporary captain. Lizzie eventually tracked down his father. It turned out out that he had started his own family and through him, Scott had half brothers that he didn't even know about. He wants to be part of his life and he is crushed when his father explains to him that his presence would have a negative effect on them. After a great run of form and with a baby on the way, Scott decided to ask for a pay rise. Due to the club being in a financial mess, the board were unwilling to negotiate a pay rise. Scott was annoyed by this and as a result he handed in a transfer request. Several clubs came in for him, including Aston Villa. The deal was all but done when Scott broke his ankle. The injury lay off allowed him to spend more time with Ann, she was impressed by his change in his attitude and she finally agreed that they should get back together and become a proper family for the baby. However, Ann wanted to leave Harchester so they could have a fresh start. After his injury had healed, Scott left Harchester for Chelsea.

Two years later and after an indifferent spell at Chelsea, Scott was once again on the move. Several clubs, including Harchester were interested in signing the player. The club had recently been taken over by Phil Wallis, who was a keen admirer of Scott's abilities. Scott made it clear that he would be interested in a move back to Harchester and the transfer looked certain to go through. However, signing Scott would mean disaster for Patrick Doyle, who had a bet on that the Dragons would be relegated that season. After a meeting with Scott, he made it clear that he would play him as an attacking midfielder and not as a striker, which Scott prefered. Upon hearing this, Scott decided to withdraw from the deal.
