Age 28, Fitness Coach. Ashleigh King has only ever strived for one thing - to be the best at what she does. Born the younger sister to four competitive brothers Ashleigh was desperate to find a sport at which she could beat her sporty older siblings, and swimming provided the answer. At age eleven Ashleigh threw herself into training, with the aim of becoming a professional. When the Olympic games came around in 1996 she left crushed - only gaining 7th place in the semis. In her mind her career was over - there was no point continuing if she couldn't finish first. After much soul searching Ashleigh settled for 'second best' and enrolled at Warwick University to study sports science.
Having continually denied herself through her teens Ashleigh took to student hedonism with all the dedication she had given her now buried swimming career, and trouble was swift to follow. After making a habit of waking up in strange beds with absolutely no recollection of the events leading her there, Ashleigh King answered the wake-up call and decided to leave these "lost weekends" behind her. With the help of her new mentor, Felix Hahn, she began studying in order to become the best she could be academically. Her driven single mindedness secured her a third year work placement at Ajax where she discovered that the continental mode of football fitness synched perfectly with her interests in nutrition and total fitness. She graduated with her Masters and wasted no time in chasing and securing herself a position in the lower strata of the Ajax coaching staff.
Though attached to her new home in the Netherlands she agrees to follow Felix to England - as long as they keep their relationship a secret - she doesn't want her new team thinking she's only there because she's the boss's girlfriend. Excited at the prospect of helping build a new team from scratch Ashleigh sees Harchester as both a personal clean slate and a blank canvas on which to experiment with continental techniques in a premiership setting. The last thing she needs in this male dominated world is Casper Rose - who she has no recollection of sleeping with.
Eventually Casper and Ashleigh decide to make a serious go of their relationship, however on the night that Casper proposes to her, he is found dead in his hotel room leaving Ashleigh distraught. For a while she becomes the main suspect in the murder investigation and because she was drunk on the night of his murder believes herself that she committed the crime. However after 3 months in jail she is cleared of the crime and goes back to her old life in Amsterdam.
